Mr. Kuhlmann is Vice President at Carpenter & Company. His role at the company spans all aspects of real estate development, from underwriting and negotiating new projects, through design and construction, to asset management and dispositions. He serves in project management roles for the Reykjavik EDITION hotel, 253-key luxury hotel and the company’s first international project and the Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences New Orleans, a 347-key luxury hotel, which also includes 92 residences and a cultural attraction.  Mr. Kuhlmann is involved daily with the full team that creates a new hotel: architects, engineers, contractors, lenders, investors, hotel operators, governmental entities, and many others.

In addition to their hotel projects, Carpenter & Company also owns and develops mixed-used, retail, office, and residential projects.  Mr. Kuhlman oversees the leasing and management of retail center in Westchester County, NY.  Mr. Kuhlmann began his real estate career during business school with an internship at TA Realty, a real estate private equity firm focused on value-added strategies for office, multifamily, retail, and industrial assets across the United States.

Prior to his career in real estate, Mr. Kuhlmann served as a U.S. Army aviation officer. In addition to duties as a Blackhawk helicopter pilot, he served in a variety of leadership roles.  Mr. Kuhlmann is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he received a BS in International Relations, and Harvard Business School, where he received his MBA and was a Baker Scholar.
