
Kaushik Vardharajan
Associate Professor of the Practice; Director, Real Estate Program
Kaushik Vardharajan is an Associate Professor of the Practice and Director of the Real Estate program at the Boston University School of Hospitality Administration (SHA). In his role, he teaches courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs, leads the strategic direction of the School’s Real Estate, and works closely with senior leaders across the industry.
Kaushik started his career at HVS, a global hospitality consulting firm, and spent 15 years there, working in 66 countries across North America, Europe, and Asia, most recently as Partner Managing Director Asia Pacific, leading multiple offices and P&Ls across Asia, developing and managing high-performance multi-cultural teams, and advising a diverse set of clients that included private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds, investment banks, hotel brands, and hotel ownership groups. He then spent four years at Hilton, leading the company’s Development function and focused on growing Hilton’s portfolio of brands in markets across South Asia.
Kaushik holds a Diploma in Hotel Management from the Institute of Hotel Management, Kolkata, and a Bachelor of Science in Hotel & Restaurant Management and an MBA in Hospitality Administration from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. He is also a graduate of the Owners and Presidents Management (OPM) program at Harvard Business School.
Kaushik has served as a regular contributor to business media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Economic Times, Bloomberg, Times of India, and Business Standard and has been interviewed by television channels such as CNBC, NDTV Profit, ET Now and Channel News Asia. Kaushik has also authored numerous articles and research papers with a primary focus on the performance of hospitality markets and hotel real estate investments around the world.
