General Manager, The Inn at Hastings Park

Katia Del Rio Gacanovic is the General Manager of the Inn at Hastings Park, a luxury Relais and Chateaux property in Lexington, MA. She has had food and beverage in her veins for over 12 years. Obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management from Les Roches Marbella in Spain, and a Masters in Management Hospitality from Cornell University., Katia has extensive international experience in the hospitality industry, including in Spain, Monaco, Mexico, and several US states, and is an innovative, dynamic team leader.

She started her career at the Presidente InterContinental Mexico City as a hostess and worked her way up to Assistant Food and Beverage Director. She hosted several gastronomic festivals and chef exchanges, in collaboration with several diplomatic delegations.

She continued her career at the InterContinental Boston, overseeing food and beverage operations and participating as a member of the Food and Beverage Leadership Team in The Americas that developed the current Food and Beverage SOPs for all InterContinental Hotels.

She transitioned to the team at Fairmont Copley Plaza as the Assistant General Manager to Oak Long Bar + Kitchen leading an $8 million dollar operations, implementing sales strategies to maximize revenues with semi-private events and overseeing the cocktail and wine program.

Katia then joined the Taj Boston, where she was part of the opening team for The Newbury Boston, a $130 million dollar renovation project where she was directly in charge of the food and beverage purchases, development of standards and operating procedures. Katia managed the food and beverage operations for all outlets including Personal Dining as well as 16,000 square feet of banquet space.

Del Rio Gacanovic continued her career growth in hospitality as the General Manager of the Inn at Hastings Park in the fall of 2021.

Katia chairs the Events and Education Committee for Les Dames d’Escoffier Boston Chapter since 2020.

When not at work, Katia enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family, her husband Laris and daughter Arya, who is 16 months old.
