David Ruger

David Ruger currently serves as the Vice President of Investments at HEI Hotels & Resorts where he focuses on full-service hotel and resort acquisitions throughout the United States. He oversees the investment process including deal sourcing, underwriting, structuring, sourcing capital partners (equity and debt), the due diligence process and negotiating key agreements.

Prior to founding GHG, David worked at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants as a Senior Director on the Development & Acquisitions team working to expand the Kimpton hotel and restaurant portfolio throughout the eastern USA, eastern Canada and the Caribbean regions. Prior to Kimpton, David worked on the Real Estate Investment Management (REIM) team at Marriott International where, David focused on dispositions, acquisitions, portfolio management as well as real estate strategy and analysis for the corporate owned hotels throughout South America, Europe and North America.

Before his role at Marriott, David worked at Crimson Rock Capital, Starwood Hotels & Resorts on the Real Estate Investment Management (REIM) team, Aimbridge Hospitality on the acquisitions team, the government services advisory team at Capital Hotel Management (CHM) and Hospitality Valuation Services (HVS) in San Francisco. David graduated from the School of Hospitality at Boston University and holds a B.S. in Hospitality Administration.
