From breathtaking properties settled on the coastline of Massachusetts to the coziest of cabins in the mountains, Airbnb has something for just about everyone, even for those seeking a little more scary thrills in their experience. Here are six of the spookiest Airbnb’s available for booking now…Beware!
Captain Grant’s,1754 Hist.Nat.Reg. – Connecticut
A shelter for Union troops and runaway slaves during the Civil War, guests of this bed and breakfast AirBNB have reportedly heard random noises and footsteps in the attic and the resident ghost—a colonial woman and two children.
Montauk Manor – New York
Located near the Hamptons, this 1920’s property sits next to a Native American cemetery. Guests have reportedly heard drumming and spotted a native wearing a headdress lurking in the shadows. The reports have become some frequent, paranormal investigators are regular visitors of the Manor.
French Normandy Estate by Robert T. Moore – California
Located in La Cañada Flintridge, it is said that the deceased owner, Robert T. Moore, hired new laborers each day to conceal the secrets of the house. Moore died in his bedroom the day before Halloween in 1958 and there is no record of where his body was buried till this day.
The Manor – Minnesota
This Airbnb was voted the “most mysterious house” in Saint Paul, Minnesota and it definitely has a right to that name. Following its spooky exterior, the property is guarded by a Doberman named Scotch.
Maison Vitry – Louisiana
Built in 1855, the Maison Vitry house in New Orleans is infamously known for its appearances on FX’s American Horror Story and HBO’s Treme. During New Orleans’ golden age, the home was considered an architectural gem, featuring 14-foot ceilings, original plaster moldings, mantles, and frescoes, a solid mahogany staircase, cast-iron balconies, and marbleized baseboards.
Historic and Haunted New Boston Inn – Massachusetts
This bed & breakfast has appeared on SYFY’s Ghost Hunters because of its paranormal activity. Constructed in 1737, the Inn sits on a Revolutionary War Training Ground and is #7 on the National Registry of Historic Places. Its paranormal guest—a woman named “Harriet” who was assassinated in 1805 and is heard walking around the Inn.
