How do I become a tutor?
Course directors recruit tutors. If you are interested in becoming a tutor, please contact the relevant Course Director.
Once selected by the Course Director, you must register as a tutor via the GSDM Portal under the Tutoring Tab. Students who are not GSDM students must email sdmtutor@bu.edu with the following information to request access to the GSDM Portal.
- Name
- Email
- Graduation year
- School affiliation(medicine, etc.)
You will receive an email from sdmtutor@bu.edu with specific instructions on how to complete the hiring process. If you do not complete the hiring process with Student Affairs, you are not eligible to receive compensation for tutoring.
You cannot begin tutoring unless you are officially registered and hired by the university. Any student who tutors prior to being officially hired will not be compensated for those sessions.
Once you have been registered and hired as a tutor, you are required to do the following on a weekly basis for your payments to be processed:
- Log in your tutoring hours weekly via the MyBU Student Portal.
- Submit a progress report after every tutoring session via the GSDM Portal.
