We’re on a mission. Will you join us?

At the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine we set ambitious goals for ourselves.

As part of one of the world’s premier academic and urban research universities, our mission is nothing less than to shape the future of our profession. We’ll do so through scholarship and scientific inquiry, the foundations of our educational programs. And in this great enterprise, our students are key participants.

That’s why we seek talented, highly motivated applicants for all of our academic programs: the four-year Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree, a two-year Advanced Standing DMD program for internationally trained dentists, and advanced certificates and degrees in all recognized specialties.

Here are the kinds of individuals we’re looking for:

  • Students who want to contribute.
Help us create and apply new knowledge, developing innovative treatments and technologies through basic, translational, and clinical research. Outstanding research opportunities are one advantage of training at a leading urban research university. While earning your degree, you can also contribute your learning and skills to provide outstanding oral health care in the Boston community or a far corner of the globe.
  • Students who are looking for hands-on experience.
Begin developing your practical skills in your first year. Then gain real-world professional experience in a wide variety of settings, while being exposed to a broad spectrum of patients and dental health issues.
  • Students who are compassionate.
Community outreach isn’t an afterthought at GSDM. It’s an integral part of the way we learn, work, and live. Have you already demonstrated an interest in community service? Then we’re interested in you.
  • Students who thrive in a supportive, cooperative environment.
Stay engaged and excited about your profession, inspired by faculty who are enthusiastic, approachable, and encouraging. In our School’s collegial atmosphere, mutual respect and ethical values flourish.
  • Students who are citizens of the world.
If you appreciate the stimulation of international viewpoints and cultures, join GSDM’s community of more than 800 students from 46 countries. Boston University is one of the most diverse, dynamic universities on earth. And the city of Boston offers an intellectual, cultural, academic, and artistic melting pot that’s sure to energize your thinking.
  • Students who stand out.
Our students are more than academically accomplished—they’re focused and driven by a desire to excel. A strong work ethic is a prerequisite to meet the challenges of our degree programs.
