There are plenty of reasons why transferring to Boston University is a good move, and we encourage you to find your niche here. But we also understand that making the move can be daunting—especially when you’ve already worked hard to earn credit elsewhere. Smooth the way to making BU your new home with these steps.

icn-readSubmit your syllabi to begin the credit evaluation process.

Find out how many credits will transfer to BU. Submit syllabi for all courses you have taken and are currently taking to the University Registrar. Include your name and birthdate in the body of your email and on each syllabus submitted. Contact the Registrar’s Office with any questions about your syllabi. You may also use our transfer equivalency site as a guide to how classes taken at other colleges or universities may transfer to Boston University.

Once you’ve received your admission decision from BU, you can submit your enrollment deposit. Your final enrollment deposit due date will depend upon when you receive your decision.

On-campus housing is guaranteed for transfer students, and one of the best ways to fully experience BU, get to know fellow Terriers, and be conveniently close to classes, libraries, and other campus resources.

Every transfer student is assigned an advisor who will offer support and answer your questions during your transition to the BU community. You’ll also have an academic advisor from the department housing your major. Set up a meeting soon after arriving to plan your first semester at BU.
