January 2026 may seem far away, but there’s still a lot to do after being admitted. Below are important next steps for you to take before then.

Create your BU Google Email Account. This is an important step to creating your student record with the University and should be done as soon as possible after submitting your enrollment deposit. (You should have received an email after you submitted your enrollment deposit from ithelp@bu.edu with these steps)
Join the BU Class of 2029 Facebook group
Share on social media that you’re in! #BU2029
Attend our Admitted Student Virtual Event
Submit your $650 enrollment deposit anytime between now and the date indicated in your decision letter
Order your BU swag and show off your Terrier pride!
Visit the student life section to learn more about life at BU
Accept your Financial Assistance award (if applicable)
Withdraw all applications to other colleges or universities unless your decision letter indicates otherwise
Send us your mid-semester senior grades

After May 1, register for University Orientation which will take place on campus January 15-18, 2026
Create your BU email account (watch for an email with instructions)
Submit your BU Alert contact information
Discuss your admission with a CGS academic advisor (don’t worry, they will contact you)

Engage virtually with Orientation Leaders and your peers (optional; watch for an email with instructions from Orientation)
Stay in contact with your CGS academic advisor to discuss your fall plans (taking courses, traveling, working, etc.)
Ask your school to send a final transcript showing proof of your graduation
Review BU’s Community Healthy & Safety protocol and submit your Immunization & Health History forms (watch for an email from Student Health Services)
Submit your International Baccalaureate scores (if applicable)
Submit your Advanced Placement scores (if applicable)

Register for classes with the help of your CGS academic advisor
Submit your New Student Housing Application (watch for an email with instructions)
Schedule a visa appointment at the US Embassy (international students only)
Engage virtually with Orientation Leaders and your peers (optional; watch for an email with instructions from Orientation)
Complete the online Orientation course (more information shared via email)

Watch for an email and complete the AlcoholEdu for College® and Sexual Harassment & Discrimination Prevention online courses (watch for an email with instructions)
Connect with your classmates and faculty at Winter Welcome events
Attend Spring Orientation January 15-18, 2026
Move into your dorm room
Start classes on January 20, 2026
