Institutional Minimum Requirements for Undergraduate Graduation
Effective July 1, 2026
To obtain a bachelor’s degree, students must earn a minimum of 128 units with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher, fulfill their degree program requirements, and complete the BU Hub requirements. The individual schools and colleges of the University have specific academic requirements and standards for determining satisfactory completion of a program of study that may require an excess of 128 units. To graduate, students must apply to their school or college by the deadline stipulated by the school or college.
Bachelor’s degree candidates are allowed seven years from the date of admission to complete degree requirements. Courses taken more than seven years before the date of graduation are not counted toward the bachelor’s degree. Leaves of absence do not extend the seven-year limit.
