Holly Connell Schaaf’s current research focuses on modern Irish and British fiction and Irish literature of the long twentieth century in all genres as well as various aspects of ESL and Composition pedagogy. Due to her interdisciplinary curiosity about language and cognition, she has most recently taught the topic Imagining Other Minds for the Writing Program. Other topics she has taught include Twentieth-Century Irish Rebellion, Early Modern and Modernist Minds: Madness and Rebellion, and Dreams of Universal Languages: Knowledge, Communication, and the Web. With her students she loves exploring texts from linguistics, philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, and other fields alongside literature.
