Summer Preview

For students entering their freshman or sophomore year of high school, the one-week, non-credit, Summer Preview Program offers a choice of two seminars, providing an opportunity to explore an academic interest in depth or investigate a new topic.

Each seminar is designed to be small, allowing students to engage in an intensive exploration of a specific topic through lectures, discussions, and individual and group work. Students also benefit from a college workshop that gets them thinking about what they can do in high school to maximize the effectiveness of their college applications.

The Summer Preview program also ensures that students benefit from a variety of structured social activities, gaining exposure to Boston University and the city of Boston—as well as the expectations of college life.

Summer Preview is open to commuters only in session 1, but also provides a residential option for students 14 or older during session 2. For a nominal fee, commuting students may join residential participants in supervised evening social activities during the second session.
