A 2-week program
As announced by the president and provost on Tuesday, April 7, Boston University has cancelled on-campus programming for Summer 2020. Summer Challenge’s residential nature and focus on hands-on, seminar based learning do not make it a feasible option for remote learning. For that reason, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to cancel all sessions of Summer Challenge for this year. Please know that as we look forward to Summer 2021, we remain committed to supporting your educational journey.
It’s called Summer Challenge because it pushes you in so many ways. You will explore your interests, discover new ones, test your academic boundaries, and immerse yourself in the college experience. Along the way, you will make new friends and get to know the magnificent city of Boston. Are you up to the challenge?
Summer 2020 sessions
June 21–July 2
July 12–July 24
July 26–August 7
A summer to remember
If you’re a rising high school sophomore, junior, or senior, you’re in for two unforgettable weeks. Get ready to experience life on a college campus and take on new academic challenges in this exceptional residential summer program.
Choose any two seminars from our extensive list. Each is designed to expand your academic horizons through lectures, discussions, individual and group work, project-based assignments—even field trips. Small class sizes give you the opportunity to receive individual attention from our experienced team of college instructors.
As part of our program, we also offer an admissions workshop that will give you valuable insight into the college application process.
The big picture
In our Summer Challenge program, you’ll be part of a close-knit social community of high school students experiencing college life. Every day, there are activities that give you a chance to make new friends, learn more about yourself, and get to know the great city of Boston.
