How Do I Apply?

Boston University’s Metropolitan College reviews candidates for acceptance on an ongoing basis. Admission to bachelor’s programs is normally granted for September and January of each year. Prior to applying, take a moment to be sure you meet the admission criteria for Metropolitan College.

Admission Criteria

There are three ways in which a student may present as eligible to apply:

  1. On the merit of previous college-level coursework
    • Graduation from high school or GED
    • Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50 in a minimum of six academic courses on the official transcript of an accredited college or university attended (non-BU)
    • Completion of EN 104 (English Composition), or its equivalent, with a grade of C or higher
  2. On the merit of coursework completed at Boston University
    • Graduation from high school or GED
    • Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.30 in a minimum of six academic courses completed at Boston University
    • Completion of EN 104 (English Composition), or its equivalent, with a grade of C or higher
  3. On the merit of a previous bachelor’s degree
    • Students pursuing a second bachelor’s degree must present an official transcript indicating the completion of the first bachelor’s degree

Application for admission must include:

  • A completed Application for Undergraduate Admission
  • Official transcripts from high school or GED
  • Official transcript(s) from each college attended
  • Undergraduate Transfer Student Status Report Form (only for schools attended in the US within the last three years; required for on-campus students only)
  • A completed personal statement essay (described on the application)
  • A nonrefundable $80 application fee
