Interlibrary Loan Services

Borrowing for BU Law Community Members

If BU does not have access to an item you are looking for, you can request the item via interlibrary loan using WorldCat Discovery. We will borrow the item from a non-BU library for you and notify you when the item is ready to be picked up.

If you are a journal member requesting an item for a source coordination, please refer to the Law Journals Research Guide for specific instructions.

If you are a faculty research assistant, please identify the request as faculty research in the status field on your WorldCat Discovery request.

First time requesting an interlibrary loan? Check out our how-to manual!

If you need additional assistance, please contact us at lawlibraries@bu-law.libanswers.com.

Lending/Copying Services for Other Libraries

The Boston University Law Library (OCLC:BOP) lends and scans materials without charge to other BLC and NELLCO libraries. The library is also a member of SHARES. Academic libraries who are not affiliated with BLC, NELLCO, or SHARES should check our fee schedule. Libraries can request items through WorldShare ILL.

We also lend items in our circulating collections to non-academic libraries. In addition, we will scan articles or chapters from our non-circulating collections. Please check our guidelines and fee schedule.
