Computer Services: Connecting to Library Databases

From On-Campus:

If you are on-campus and have an ethernet connection (in the law library, student labs, or faculty offices) you can access most of the electronic resources of the Boston University libraries simply by clicking on a link from:

A few of the electronic resources can only be accessed from within the library due to licensing restrictions. Check the list of electronic resources for information about where each one is available.

If you are on-campus and using the wireless network, you must have your laptop configured for VPN as well as configuring your browser for the law proxy server.

From Off-Campus:

To access the majority of the law library's electronic resources from off-campus, you must have an Internet connection and use the law proxy server.

You will be able to use your own Internet Service Provider or set up a Boston University PPP account to get connected to the Internet. BU's Personal Computing Support Center offers information on how to set up Ethernet and modem connections as well as updated versions of all major Internet applications used at Boston University.

If you are off-campus, you can access WebSPIRS databases by using your BU account Kerberos username and password to log in to version 5 of WebSPIRS.
