Get Research Help

Professional legal information librarians are available to assist with research, online searching, questions about the collection and interlibrary loan.  The Fineman Reference desk is located in the entrance area of the library.

Law students may contact the reference librarians a number of ways. We encourage you to ask us for assistance anytime you have a question.

Law students working on seminar papers, certification papers, or journal notes are welcome to make an appointment for a research consultation with a legal information librarian. They can help you develop a research strategy for a successful research paper experience.

Law faculty may request research via email. The legal information staff can assist with research, online database searching, compiling legislative histories, preparing bibliographies and research guides, and locating documents.

Boston University faculty who are not affiliated with the law school may request assistance with legal research resources and strategies, as well as research tours of the law library or classroom instruction for law related classes.
