The Department of International Relations offers nine Master of Arts degrees, providing students with a range of programs tailored to their specific career goals and needs. These dynamic programs provide students the opportunity to learn about international affairs through study in the IR Department and contiguous study in other departments at BU. Study toward an IR MA at Boston University is an exciting experience, one that will challenge you and change your understanding of global affairs.

The IR Department’s Graduate Programs are administered through the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (GRS) at Boston University and follow all policies and procedures of GRS.
The IR Department at BU is an affiliate member of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA), the premier association for graduate programs in International Relations.
