BU School of Hospitality Administration Announces Executive-In-Residence Guest Asad Ahmed

The Howard Johnson Executive-In-Residence Program will welcome its second guest, Asad Ahmed, Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Hyatt Sales Force, on April 17 & 18, 2019.
(Boston, MA –4/9/2019) –The Boston University School of Hospitality Administration is proud to announce that Mr. Asad Ahmed, Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Hyatt Sales Force, will serve as executive-in-residence on April 17 and 18, 2019.
The Howard Johnson Executive-in-Residence Program was established in fall of 2016 and is supported by William H. Weeks in tandem with the Howard Johnson Foundation. The Executive-in-Residence program allows the School of Hospitality Administration to host industry executives and leaders, where they can share their expertise with students and faculty via lectures, workshops, mentorship, and elective courses.
The Boston University School of Hospitality Administration is thrilled to welcome Mr. Asad Ahmed, who serves as the Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Hyatt Sales Force, in April. In his current role, Mr. Ahmed is responsible for managing Hyatt’s global customer facing organization, developing customer relationships and maximizing system delivery across Hyatt hotels worldwide.
Prior to being appointed to his current role in May 2017, Mr. Ahmed previously served as Vice President of Sales for Starwood Hotels’ Europe, Africa, and Middle East divisions. He held various sales and leadership positions within Starwood since joining in 2005. Mr. Ahmed holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Boston University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

He brings with him so much hands-on global industry knowledge and expertise in hotels, sales, and leadership, and we are lucky to have the opportunity to learn from him,” says Dr. Arun Upneja, Dean of the School of Hospitality Administration.
During his time as executive-in-residence, Mr. Ahmed will speak at a Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International event comprised of Boston chapter students, followed by a networking event. Mr. Ahmed will be a guest speaker in the Introduction to Hospitality course. Additionally, hospitality students will have the opportunity to make one-on-one appointments with Mr. Ahmed for career advice and networking.
