Computing & Data Science (665 Comm. Ave.) room 1646
This event showcases the impact of Writing in the Disciplines (WID) initiatives on undergraduate students, faculty pedagogy, and the curricula of departments and programs. A series of brief presentations of WID programming will highlight discipline-based writing support for undergraduate students, pedagogical collaborations with faculty, summer internships for undergraduate social science writers, multilingual collaborations, and transformative department-based writing plans. In addition to discussion of these programs, this event will raise questions about writing in the disciplines pedagogy with regard to generative AI, linguistic justice, and experiential learning.
We look forward to sharing the work we have done, as well as initiating a conversation to hear from all relevant stakeholders about the next stages and future of writing in the disciplines at Boston University.
Speakers will include Jessica Kent, Christina Michaud, and David Shawn.
All are welcome to attend. Please RSVP here.
Light refreshments will be served.
