The Celebration of Multilingual Writing (held this year on Thursday, November 13, from 10-4 in the Howard Thurman Center) is a vibrant interactive celebration of the rich diversity of languages and cultures that make up BU. Whether you’re a heritage language speaker, foreign language majors or minor, international student, faculty/staff with an interest in arts and creativity and culture, we extend a warm invitation to you.
Take a trip around the world without leaving campus, and learn more about the concept of linguistic justice–access to language, expression, and knowledge production across languages, continents, and cultures. Our Celebration helps to raise awareness about the importance of allowing everyone the freedom to express themselves in their own language and to celebrate all linguistic backgrounds.
The entire BU community is welcome to join us at the Howard Thurman Center. Come experience:
- Poster presentations
- Video and other forms of digital displays
- Open-mic corner
- Games
- Arts and creativity area
- Tabling by the BU Libraries, the Hub, the Educational Resource Center, the CAS Writing Center, and more
