Incoming Students’ Checklist

To prepare for University orientation and registration as a new student at BU Wheelock College of Education & Human Development, you need to complete all these items below. The BU Wheelock Student Services team is here to help guide you through the summer into your next four years. We can’t wait to see you all at orientation and to welcome you to Boston University!

1. Create a BU email.

2. Register for Orientation (Check out FYSOP too!)

3. Send Boston University any AP, IB, Dual Enrollment Credit

AP scores of 4 or 5 are necessary for BU credit. Credit for IB is awarded for higher level subjects only, with a grade of 5 or higher.

4. Students who submitted English-language proficiency test scores (such as TOEFL scores) to Admissions are required to take the Writing Placement Test before taking a CAS WR course. This applies to both international and domestic students.

Test Availability: The online test will be available for students to take from midnight on the first date listed until 11:59 pm on the last date listed. The times are Eastern Standard times.

You do not need to sign up in advance. All sessions are open to all students. You will need to create a BU email account before you take the test. We strongly encourage you to test as early as possible so that you have the most class registration options.

5. Complete your Housing Interest Survey.

6. You are ready to begin to plan your classes!
