Current BU Student Registration
Course information for summer 2026 will be available on December 15. Registration for summer 2026 opens in February. Sign up to receive an email notification when summer 2026 information is published.
BU students who have an active BU login account and Kerberos password can register for summer courses on the MyBU Student Portal. You don’t need an academic advising code for summer registration, although it is always a good idea to check with your advisor before signing up for courses.
You can continue to add/drop courses on the MyBU Student Portal until the end of the add/drop period for your particular course. No schedule changes are possible once the add/drop deadline has passed.
Note: Some instructors do not allow students to join their course once it has begun. It is recommended that you register for and attend summer courses by their first meeting date. During add/drop week, if you want to add a course after it has started, you should first contact the instructor to receive permission to add.
Course overloads
Two courses for a total of 8–10 credits is considered a full-time schedule for a six-week or seven-week summer session. Students who wish to take more than two courses within one six-week or seven-week summer session must seek approval from their advisor. Most BU schools and colleges require approval to take a summer overload—check with your advising office and obtain the appropriate permission.
Payment
Charges for tuition and fees will appear on your student account soon after you register for courses. These charges will remain, and you will be responsible for payment, unless you officially drop your course(s) by the published drop deadline. See the Tuition, Fees, & Payment section for additional payment information.
