Virtual Event

The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research funds groundbreaking basic and translational research that will transform the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. The foundation supports individual investigators, multi-disciplinary teams, and early-stage companies in the United States and across the globe.

In this virtual presentation for BU faculty, Senior Scientific Director Michael Carleton, PhD and Scientific Director Rob Magin, PhD will join us to discuss the foundation’s research programs:

    • ASPIRE Award: For high-risk, high-reward projects that aim to answer key feasibility and proof-of-concept questions. Up to $500,000. The Intrinsically Disordered Proteins and Cancer Award has a deadline of February 28. The Early Detection Award has a deadline of March 10.
    • Emerging Leader Award: For early-career faculty members conducting high-impact, high-risk projects that are distinct from their current research portfolio. $750,000 over three years. The next deadline is May 5.
    • Endeavor Award: For teams of 3-5 investigators who are to generate and integrate data from diverse lines of research. Awards are $3,000,000. The next deadline is September 3.
    • Drug Discovery Award: To advance new therapeutic agents to preclinical development. Up to $1,000,000. The next deadline is September.
    • Fellowships: For postdoctoral fellows and other early-career researchers.
