Research on Tap: Data Science for Racial Equity (2021)
Faculty Hosts: Azer Bestavros, Associate Provost, Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences, and Ibram X. Kendi, Director and Founder, Center for Antiracist Research
The need for research that exposes racist policy implications and informs policy makers and the public on antiracist alternatives could not be more urgent. Data science can be the window through which we can see racism, by helping us to understand historical patterns and uncover racial inequity. Data science can also be the door to the policies and practices that will allow us to build an antiracist future.
At this Research on Tap, attendees will hear from BU data scientists engaged in research that uncovers racial inequity in a variety of contexts and provides a data-driven pathway to an equitable society. View event agenda and slides.
