My CV User Guide – Professional Activities (Service)
1. My CV Introduction
This User Guide provides details for navigating, reviewing and adding your Professional Activities (Service) in My CV. There are additional User Guides for other functionality, such as navigating and modifying your profile, publications, grants and service. These can be found on the Training and Support page of the My CV Project Website.
Click on the Menu icon in the top left-hand corner to navigateMy CV Menu tab.

The Menu tab allows navigation to the different modules where you can manage your publications, grants, professional activities, or teaching activities. You can also build a CV or report, explore publications and activities of other BU users, or manage your profile and search settings.
3.2 The Home page

The Home page allows you to see a summary view of the information you have in My CV as well any outstanding actions you may need to take, including publications you must claim or reject, and publications you must deposit into OpenBU. These outstanding actions are displayed by browsing your My Actions carousel. If you prefer a list of your actions, you can change the display format, by clicking the buttons pointed out with the blue callout box below.
3.3 Professional Activities page

The My CV Professional Activities Module is used to collect and aggregate your professional/service activities. Navigate to your professional activities summary page by clicking Menu > My Profile>My Work > Professional Activities.
The Professional Activities module allows you to add and view information about your professional/service activities in My CV. Data for some awards/honors is prepopulated from Academic Analytics. If any data is incorrect, manually edit the record to correct it.

3.4 Detailed record view
To get to the detailed professional activity record view for an individual item, click the item’s title. The detailed view shows you all of the data available for your record. From here you can:
Add/edit BU co-contributors; for example if you co-led an event with a colleague, you can add them to your entry.
Link the professional activity to publications, teaching activities, grants, or other professional activities in My CV.
View the history of your record.

4. Add a Professional Activity Manually
To manually add a professional activity:
a) From your Home screen, click the + ADD NEW button within the professional activities summary box.

Alternatively, navigate to your Professional Activities page by clicking Menu > My Profile > My Work> Professional Activities., and clicking ADD NEW ACTIVITY button () in the top, right-hand corner of the screen.
b) From the pop up screen, select which type of professional activity you would like to add. The types of professional activities available to users will vary by school/college.

c) You will be taken to the data entry form. Complete the form and click save.
5. Edit Existing Professional Activities Records
You may edit a professional activity record at any time, even if it was automatically populated into your profile.
a) Open the detailed view of the professional activity record you wish to change, by clicking on the bolded title.
b). Click the Edit Record button.
c). Save changes once you are finished.
