My CV

What is My CV?

My CV (mycv.bu.edu) is a software system that assists Boston University faculty members in collecting and maintaining their scholarly and professional contributions, storing the data in one place. My CV provides a repository for basic profile information, such as appointments and education, publications, teaching activities, grants and professional activities. Wherever possible, the system pre-populates with data from both internal and external source systems to save time and reduce the data entry.

My CV also uses ORCID (orcid.org) to help with author disambiguation, eliminating issues with common names and name changes. Boston University Research has an Open Research and Contributor ID Project site (bu.edu/orcid) to assist with initiating your ORCID record creation or reporting an existing ORCID.

My CV also facilitates the Faculty Annual Review (FAR) system on the Charles River Campus. Eligible activities from a faculty member’s My CV profile will pull into their Faculty Annual Report, reducing the amount of manual data entry in the review process.

Additionally, the system provides support for faculty in adhering to BU’s Open Access Policy by automatically flagging those publications that fall under the policy and making it easy to deposit into OpenBU. For more information about BU’s Open Access Policy, please see the FAQ page on the Boston University Libraries site.
