Tobias Ninson
Lecturer, Akan Twi
Tobias Ninson is a dedicated educator and lifelong learner with a passion for language, theology, and global engagement. He joined the African Languages Program at Boston University in the fall of 2022 as the Akan Twi lecturer, bringing a wealth of experience in both ancient and modern languages.
Currently, Tobias serves as a faculty member in the theology department at Boston College High School. Prior to his work in the Boston area, he spent six years teaching high school in New York City, where he cultivated a dynamic approach to education that bridges cultures and disciplines.
His academic journey has taken him across international settings, shaping his deep appreciation for linguistic and theological studies. Tobias holds a Bachelor of Philosophy from the Pontifical Antonianum University in Rome, a Master of Theological Studies from Boston College, and an Advanced Certificate in School Building Leadership from St. John’s University in New York.
Tobias is excited to contribute to the African Languages Program at BU, where he aims to foster global citizenship and cultural literacy in the classroom. His work is driven by the belief that language learning is a powerful tool for building connections and understanding across cultures.
