Gallery: History of the Kimono
On Thursday, October 30, the Center for the Study of Asia at the Boston University Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies co-hosted an event on the Japanese Kimono.
Co-hosted with the Japan Society of Boston the event welcomed a delegation of around 40 instructors from The Cultural Foundation for Promoting the National Costume of Japan, one of the leading kimono schools in Japan who presented a retrospective of kimono styles, from modern to ancient.
The Center for the Study of Asia is one of Pardee School’s six regional and thematic centers.
The following are a selection of photos from the event. For more information read here.
