Two Pardee School Students Awarded Prestigious Harold C. Case Scholarships

Bontu Ankit Patro ’25
Nathan Duong ’25

Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies is proud to announce that two of its students, Bontu Ankit Patro and Nathan Duong, have been awarded the prestigious Harold C. Case Scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The Harold C. Case Scholarship is one of the highest distinctions granted to undergraduate students at Boston University. This year, only 14 recipients were selected from across the entire university, making this achievement particularly noteworthy for the Pardee School.

Associate Provost for Undergraduate Affairs, Amie Grills, informed the students of their awards, noting that the scholarship “was established through the contributions of students, alumni, staff, faculty, Trustees, and friends of Boston University to honor the achievements of Dr. Case during his tenure as the fifth President of Boston University from 1951 to 1967.”

The selection criteria for this scholarship include academic excellence, extracurricular involvement, contributions to the University, and scholarly potential. Both Patro and Duong were recognized for their sustained and meaningful engagement in their undergraduate experiences.

Scott Taylor, Dean of the Pardee School of Global Studies, extended his congratulations to both students, describing the award as “a remarkable achievement and a wonderful recognition of your academic performance, extracurricular activities, and your many contributions to the BU and Pardee School communities.”

The exact amount of the scholarship will be determined by the Office of Financial Assistance later this summer, and a notation of the award will appear on the students’ transcripts.

As they enter their senior year at Boston University, both Patro and Duong have been commended for their achievements as valued members of the BU community. This recognition not only highlights their individual accomplishments but also reflects positively on the quality of education and opportunities provided by the Pardee School of Global Studies.

The Pardee School community joins in congratulating Bontu Ankit Patro and Nathan Duong on this significant achievement and wishes them continued success in their academic pursuits.
