Heine Joins Webinar on Active Non-Alignment & Spread in the Global South
On December 7, 2022, Jorge Heine, Research Professor at Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, participated in a book talk hosted by Le Grand Continent on his book El No Alineamiento Activo y América Latina: una doctrina para el nuevo siglo (Active Non-Alignment and Latin America: A Doctrine for the New Century),
Heine was joined on the panel by Jorge Castañeda, the former foreign minister of Mexico, and Beata Wonja, a former Polish ambassador and current professor of International Relations at el Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico City. Speakers emphasized the degree to which Heine’s book has gained new currency as the notion of non-alignment has spread throughout the Global South in the course of 2022.
The English edition of the book, co-edited by Carlos Fortin, Jorge Heine, and Carlos Ominami, will be published by Anthem Press in London and in New York on February 7, 2022.
