In a new article in the London Review of Books, Rachel Nolan, Assistant Professor of International Relations at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, explores the Operação Lava Jato (Operation Car Wash) investigation into corruption in Brazil as well as the upcoming elections there.
In her article, titled “Billionaires in the Dock,” Nolan discusses the accusations that were leveled against then Brazilian President Luiz Inácio da Silva (aka Lula), the general controversy surrounding his party, and what the future holds for Lula ahead of his run against President Jair Bolsonaro in October 2022.
