Heine Interviewed on Chilean President-elect Boric’s Cabinet Selections

Ambassador Jorge Heine, Research Professor at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, was recently featured in the Latin America Advisor, a publication of the Inter-American Dialogue, a Washington D.C. think tank.

Heine responded to the publication’s feature Q&A, which asked about the Cabinet of Chile’s government elect, specifically its makeup and the pace at which President-elect Gabriel Boric’s choices will address pressing issues in the country. Heine says the rise in the Chilean peso, as well as that of the Chilean stock market, shows favorable market reactions to the new cabinet. He says that the combination of young leaders and veteran bureaucrats will make for a brilliant cabinet, but only time will tell if they can bring Boric’s agenda to fruition.
