Najam Appears on Pakistonomy Podcast

On October 3, 2020, Adil Najam, Dean of the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, was the featured guest on Pakistonomy, a podcast that examines the economic, political, and societal opportunities and challenges facing Pakistan and its economy.

During the podcast, Najam discussed polarization, generational shifts in Pakistan, climate change, and more. On societal divisions, Najam commented that the class divide between rich and poor in Pakistan still remains strong even as attention has shifted to other subsets of society. 

Najam also spoke at length about climate change and how it’s being addressed in developing countries like Pakistan. He said that, in the Age of Adaptation, the key challenge for development countries is to reform their development policy to focus on and be able to cope with the effects of global climate change.

Adil Najam is a global public policy expert who also served as the Vice Chancellor of the Lahore University of Management Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan. He is the Inaugural Dean of the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, acting Director of the Boston University Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future, and was the former Vice Chancellor of the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
