GDP Releases New Paper on AIIB
The Global Development Policy (GDP) Center and the G-24 released a working paper on April 30, 2020 entitled “From Drawing Board to Reality: The First Four Years of Operations at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and New Development Bank.”
The paper assesses the banks’ performance in four areas: membership and governance, project operations, environmental and social sustainability and finances.
The working paper argues that both banks show considerable promise in supporting sustainable infrastructure, but with significant gaps in definitions and firm commitments. A series of institutional reform options can help Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and New Dvelopment Bank (NDB) to better achieve the goals of their shareholders in the coming years.
