PGC Attends Persian New Year at the Museum of Fine Arts
The Pardee Graduate Council (PGC), the official graduate student organization of the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, hosted Pardee School students at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, attending “Nowruz 2019: The Persian New Year Festival” on March 23, 2019.
During the visit, PGC members and fellow graduate students attended the Haft Seen display in the Shapiro Family Court Yard. It included traditional arrangements for the New Year, symbolic items, and a ‘King and Queen’ who took photos with attendees. The festival also included several activities, such as a performance by a kamancheh player, dances, and egg painting.
The PGC organizes a variety of activities aimed at enriching graduate student life at the Pardee School including discussions with Pardee School faculty, film screenings and social events. Most recently, the PGC organized a “Kindness Week” at the Pardee School to encourage small and large acts of kindness around campus.
