PGC Calls for Papers for 2019 Graduate Student Conference
The Pardee Graduate Council (PGC), the official graduate student organization of the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, is accepting abstract submissions for the 8th annual Pardee Graduate Student Conference on advancing human progress to be held on February 22-23, 2019.
The PGC invites abstract submissions of approximately 300 words focusing on topics of global importance from disciplines including international affairs, political science, sociology, public health, economics, and environmental studies. View the call for paper here.
Submissions must be the product of graduate research, either at the MA or PhD level. Accepted papers should be between 20 and 50 pages double-spaced. Presentations are expected to be 10 minutes with time for questions after.
Past panels have been organized on themes including trade and finance, media and communication, environmental governance, human development, political systems and ideology, and religion and beliefs.

The PGC organizes a variety of activities aimed at enriching graduate student life at the Pardee School including discussions with Pardee School faculty, film screenings and social events. Most recently, the PGC organized a “Kindness Week” at the Pardee School to encourage small and large acts of kindness around campus.
Each year in the spring semester, the PGC organizes a graduate student conference centered around a theme chosen by the students. The conference draws graduate students from the many colleges and universities throughout the Boston area and beyond.
