Students Publish IR Review

irreviewresizedThe International Relations Review, a tradition since 2009 of entirely student-produced and -published scholarship and journalism in International Relations, has released its Fall 2014 issue.

The IR Review is a branch of the Boston University International Affairs Association (BUIAA). BUIAA is an academic society focused on bringing a global perspective to the social sciences. Through encouraging and promoting diplomacy, dialogue, and the understanding different cultures, it is one of the largest and most active student groups on campus, providing members with unparalleled opportunities to get involved on campus and internationally.

Today, it is a well-established academic publication that releases print editions seasonally and online content year-round. Current Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies students on the 2014-2015 editorial board include Editor-in-Chief Vincent Jordan, Managing Editor Fatima Mohie-Eldin, Editors Latifah Azlan and Victoria Reynolds,  and staff writers Ines Boussebaa, Colie Cofield, Caitlin Hemdal, Morgan Peterson, and Sam Wong.

“We’ve focused on increasing our coverage of current, high profile issues while still maintaining the in-depth analysis we’re known for,” said Jordan. “We’ve redesigned and reorganized the issue to make it feel more contemporary and visual, but perhaps the greatest change we’ve seen is the growing number of people looking to get involved, be it writing, as an editor, or simply as a reader.”

The fall 2014 edition of the magazine contains articles on political unrest in Hong Kong, environmental policy in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, and the crisis in Ukraine.
