Metropolitan College’s Prison Education Program, established in 1972, was mentioned in an article in the New Yorker. The article, focusing on the Obama Administration’s new Second Chance Pell Pilot Program, cites Boston University as the only school to continue its prison education initiatives after Pell Grant eligibility for prisoners was withdrawn in 1994.
