Lou Chitkushev

Professor Chitkushev (chit-KOO-shev) is an internationally recognized scholar in cybersecurity and network applications across healthcare, biomedical, and financial information systems. His work is renowned for leveraging computational and AI-driven models to analyze health and economic data, with a strong focus on privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity challenges within complex systems.

He is the founding director of the Metropolitan College Health Informatics program and head of the Digital Forensics Research Laboratory. As a cofounder of Boston University’s Center for Reliable Information Systems & Cyber Security (RISCS), he was part of the team that established BU as a Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense and Research, as designated by the National Security Agency and the US Department of Homeland Security.

Dr. Chitkushev currently serves as the cybersecurity expert on the Massachusetts Center for Health Information and Analysis Oversight Council, appointed by the Attorney General of Massachusetts.
