Between Faith and Humanism: Activism and Ethics in Israel After October 7

Anthropologist Yael Assor and activist Esther Sperber will present their reflections about the limits and rekindling of their core beliefs and forms of activism, which were severely challenged by the Hamas attack in October 2023, and Israel’s subsequent war on Gaza. Their papers will be pre-circulated to interested audience members, and Professor Adam Seligman will act as a discussant, responding to the papers and presentations. This discussion will be followed by a panel Q&A.
