Paul R. Lohnes

Paul Lohnes has worked since he was 10 years old and purchased his first business at the age of 22. He is a believer in hard work, maintaining friendships and having a sense of humor. Over 50 years Paul has grown several successful businesses with multiple partners that he continues to cherish today. He grew Cambridge Electric Motor (CEM) from two people, repairing small electrical motors, to over 60 people, maintaining gigantic hydro-electrical plants. At the same time and among other investment partnerships, he ventured into real estate development with a long-time friend, Peter Anastos. In the 1980’s their partnership grew into Maine Course Hospitality Group (MCHG) owning and operating Ground Round and other restaurants.

Maine Course Hospitality Group purchased their first hotel in 1992 which eventually led the partners to make hotels their focus. MCHG has since grown to encompass 24 hotels throughout the Northeast and Florida with 650 associates. The company owns, operates and has third party management agreements. Through MCHG and other partnerships, Paul continues to actively expand the portfolio of hotel and mixed-use development projects.

Paul’s greatest asset is choosing partners and leaders for his businesses. He gives them the tools to succeed and lets them go; always keeping his pulse on the organization. This trust and friendship has led many of his team to personal growth and success. Paul fosters strong relationships with his employees while asking for high standards. As a result, across his business ventures, he has remarkable employee retention. Paul can be reached in his office at 4:30 AM daily.
