Junior year can be a challenging yet highly rewarding time to be an Engineer. This is a great time to consider how you can diversify and enhance your classroom learning. You can specialize your studies by adding a minor or a concentration that aligns with your interests and goals. ENG faculty and the Career Development Office can help you find hands-on opportunities in the form of summer internships, research, or academic co-op experiences. You also still have the opportunity to study abroad, with options of direct-enroll programs in Singapore, Dublin or Sydney. As a junior, there are many ways to become involved in leadership opportunities, organizations, and honor societies within the community, so we encourage you to learn more about where you can make an impact. The Academic Counselor for the junior year is Carole Dutchka. To schedule an appointment with Carole, visit Handshake.

Opportunities to Enhance Your Degree

  • Minors complement your degree by adding the in-depth study of an additional field.
  • Concentrations add a cutting-edge specialization to your degree, usually requiring no additional coursework.
  • Co-Ops and Internships: Juniors should consider a summer internship or co-op experience during an academic year.
