Looking for study space?

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! There’ll be parties for hosting, marshmallows for toasting, and 24 hour library service! Okay… so those may not be the lyrics, and this may be the most difficult time of the school year, but Mugar Memorial Library is here to help you through it.

For the rest of this week, Mugar will be open its standard hours: Mon-Thurs: 7am-2am, Fri:7am-11pm, Sat: 8am-11pm, and Sun: 10am-2am. The schedule will continue like this until the last day of classes this semester (Tuesday December 12, 2017.)

Starting Wednesday December 13, the library will open at 7am and continue their operations without closing until December 21 at midnight. Yes, they will be open 24 hours a day during that time. They will also offer van service to make sure you get back to your residence hall room safely if you are studying late.

The last day Mugar will be open for special finals hours is Friday, December 22, from 8am-11pm.

Is Mugar full? The Dean’s Study Lounge on the third floor of the George Sherman Union (GSU) is open regular GSU hours. And starting on December 14th, the GSU Ballroom will be turned into a giant study hall, also available while the GSU is open.

This is also the first fall semester that the College of Arts and Sciences Think Tank will be fully operational for finals studying. This new space is a perfect place to review notes between final exams.

There are also many study spaces in residence halls and other schools and college buildings throughout campus. Please note that the Law School has limited access to study areas during final exams. They will update what is and is not available for study on their website.

Take advantage of these spaces and hours. Be sure to study hard and try your best to be of good cheer during this not-so-wonderful time of year!
