CGS Alum Laura Robertson (CGS ’07, COM ’09) Steps into the World of Advertising
CGS Alumnus Laura Robertson (CGS’07, COM’09) has stepped out of BU and into the world of advertising with her job at Next Jump. Here is Robertson on her exciting new position, in her own words!

In my role of Merchant Services here at Next Jump, I work with our retail partners on proactive marketing campaigns where we drive qualified traffic to both online and in-store locations nationwide. Due to our direct relationships with 60% of the Fortune 500 companies, we are able to match our behavioral and preferential data sets with those from the company to target the best consumers for the merchant. In return, the consumer is paired with a great offer from a merchant they’re interested in.
We have seen positive results, despite the economic downturn, because we are reaching an audience of employed individuals who have disposable incomes to shop. Some of our best clients consist of Hewlett Packard, 1-800-Flowers & Barnes & Noble. I also work with luxury merchants to run private in-store shopping events where we have seen upwards of 80% buy rates, generating truly substantial sales in 3 hours.
We are looking at becoming a public company in the future and I am excited to be a on the ground floor of this initiative and part of the company’s growth.
