Susangeline Patrick
Susangeline Patrick is Associate Professor of World Christianity at Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO. She is also a faculty member at NAIITS, an Indigenous Learning Community. She is the author of two books: Christians in the City of Shanghai: A History Resurrected above the Sea (London: Bloomsbury Academic, 2023) and Art as a Pathway to God: A Historical-Theological Study of the Jesuit Mission to China, 1552–1773 (Leiden: Brill, 2023).
Her research interests focus on the Eurasian exchange, women in World Christianity, and Indigenous people’s encounters with Christianity. Her current research project explores the history of Christians among ethnic minorities on the Yunnan-Myanmar borders, especially how they navigated diverse religious beliefs, cultures, and changes from the sixteenth century to the present day.
