Can Chen

Can Chen is a visiting doctoral student at the Boston University School of Theology. He comes from the School of Philosophy at Beijing Normal University. He grew up in the multi-religious cultural atmosphere of the Minnan region in Fujian, China, surrounded from childhood by Buddhist and Daoist practices. After entering university, he developed an interest in Christianity on his own initiative and began participating in Christian religious activities. Chen holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Physical Education from Beijing Normal University. With a strong passion for physical exercise, he is currently researching the relationship between the cross-cultural transmission of Christianity and sports, focusing especially on the spread of sports through Chinese Christianity from the late 19th to early 20th century.
