Internship: Marketing

The BFO is actively seeking a marketing intern, this position is especially well-suited for anyone interested in arts administration, social media/digital marketing, entrepreneurship, and the creative sector.

The Boston Festival Orchestra is a nonprofit with a focus on the accessibility and impact of classical music. The BFO brings the highest caliber of artistic service to Greater Boston by offering accessible, educational, and relevant music experiences, employing local professional musicians, and engaging with its community through an extensive nonprofit partnership program.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Boston Festival Orchestra is seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Intern to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing and social media management within the arts sector. The intern will play a key role in enhancing the orchestra’s online presence and engaging with our audience through creative content and strategic initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

● Content Creation: Develop and design engaging content (including graphics, photos, and videos) for the BFO’s social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
● Social Media Management: Schedule and publish posts, monitor engagement, and interact with followers to build and maintain a strong online community.
● Strategy Development: Collaborate with the team to create and implement social media strategies that align with the BFO’s mission and upcoming events.
● Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyze the performance of social media campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
● Event Promotion: Assist in the promotion of BFO events, including concerts, educational programs, and community outreach initiatives.
● Brand Alignment: Ensure all social media content is consistent with BFO’s brand voice, values, and mission.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

● Creative Thinker: Someone with fresh ideas, a passion for storytelling through visual and written content, and a grasp on current trends and how they overlap with our organization and industry.
● Strong Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and tone.
● Social Media Savvy: Experience with major social media platforms and a basic understanding of analytics tools.
● Interest in the Arts: A genuine interest in music, the arts, and community engagement, with a desire to learn more about nonprofit arts management.
● Self-Starter: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.

COMPENSATION

This is unpaid, hybrid work in Boston, where students can setup flexible hours (10-15 hours per week) to accommodate academic schedule. The internship will start September 30,2024 and end on December 13, 2024.
