An Alumni Weekend for the history books

The energy was high and the weather was perfect as Terriers reunited with friends and classmates and enjoyed the more than 50 events planned across BU’s Charles River, Medical, and Fenway campuses for Alumni Weekend 2024.
From campus tours to a Red Sox game, networking and career development opportunities for young alumni, 50th reunion celebrations for the Class of 1974, and much more, BU alums had plenty of reasons to come back to campus. Set against a beautiful New England fall weekend, more than 2,000 alumni from across the country and around the world gathered to enjoy the festivities and help usher in the University’s next chapter with the historic inauguration of President Melissa Gilliam.
Highlights included an exhibition of art by alums of the School of Visual Arts, Student Alumni Association coffee chats with alumni, and a trivia night at Sunset Cantina, where Terriers showed off their competitive sides. President Gilliam joined in the fun and even threw out the first pitch at the Red Sox game for BU’s Night at Fenway. She got to meet many alumni at events throughout the weekend, including the Back to BU Beach Festival, the Black Alumni Celebration, and the Best of BU Awards ceremony, where the BU community honored the recipients of BU’s Distinguished Alumni and Young Alumni Awards, Uzo Aduba (CFA’05), Kate Barrand (Questrom’85), Michelle Hurd (CFA’88), Daniel Levy (CAMED’80), and Em Nguyen (COM’15).
