Giving Tuesday, the global philanthropic movement launched in 2012 to inspire community support and generosity, is a moment in the busy holiday season to reflect on and lift up what is most important to us.

This year, on December 3, Terriers came together to give generously in support of the Boston University community. The nearly 1,200 gifts, big and small, raised more than $300,000 for 104 funds benefiting research centers, scholarships, campus life, community services, and more. The General Scholarship Fund was the top performing fund, drawing 74 donations that raised close to $11,000 for scholarships that provide critical support to students across all disciplines, ensuring that the best and brightest have access to a Boston University education.

Terriers have significantly impacted the lives of countless students and the broader BU community in the 11 years that the University has participated in Giving Tuesday. In that time, the BU community has fostered innovation and leadership by making education accessible to talented students from diverse backgrounds, supported groundbreaking discoveries and advancements in various fields, and enhanced the overall student experience by supporting campus resources and community spaces that ensure that every student has what they need to thrive. Contributions to these pillars of BU’s mission help build a brighter future for us all.
